About Cambridge Cabinet Painting

One trade, one fixed sequence and a written quote that names everything. Here is how the work is done and what you will be told straight.

A soft-close hinge sits inside the frame of an open cabinet door.

A Cabinet Painting Company Built Around One Trade

Cambridge Cabinet Painting works on kitchen cabinets and nothing that pulls attention away from them. Cabinet painting, booth spraying, refinishing, refacing, hardware and vanities make up the whole list, and the equipment, the coatings and the order of work all exist for that one trade. Every job is fully insured.

Working on one trade means the awkward parts get answered properly. Tannin bleed through oak, a bonding primer on melamine, a thermofoil door that has started to lift beside a dishwasher, a face frame in an 1800s Galt house that has not been square since the 1950s: those are ordinary problems here rather than surprises. The complete list is on the services page.

What A Cabinet Painting Quote Names Before Anything Is Touched

The written quote follows the in-home visit and it is specific. Door and drawer front count, substrate, the primer chosen for that substrate, the topcoat family, the number of coats, the sheen, the colour, what is included and what is a separate line, and one fixed price. Cabinet painting quoted without those details is quoted on assumptions.

Interiors, crown moulding and glass-insert doors sit on separate lines so any of them can come off the job without reopening the rest of the price. Hardware and hinge work follows that pattern too, and the reasoning is on cabinet hardware and soft-close hinges.

What We Will Tell You Even When It Costs Us The Job

Some cabinets should not be painted. Thermofoil that is already peeling will keep peeling under any coating, water-damaged particleboard under a sink cannot be brought back, and a box that has pulled off the wall needs fixing before a gun comes anywhere near it. In each case you get told, in writing, before a deposit is discussed.

Some kitchens are better refinished than painted. Walnut, cherry and white oak in sound shape are worth more under fresh stain and a clear coat than under colour, and cabinet painting is the wrong recommendation there. That comparison sits on cabinet refinishing.

There is also a point where refacing or replacement makes more sense than any finish. When the boxes are failing, painting them is money spent on a problem that will still be there in two years, and we say so.

How We Work

  • One trade only

Cabinet painting, booth spraying, refinishing, hardware and vanities make up the whole list. The equipment, the coatings and the order of work all exist for that one trade, so awkward problems are ordinary ones.

  • A quote that names everything

The written quote lists the door count, the material, the primer, the topcoat family, the coats, the sheen and one fixed price. Interiors and crown moulding sit on separate lines so they can come off the job.

  • Honest advice, even against the job

Peeling thermofoil, water-damaged particleboard and failing boxes get named in writing before a deposit comes up. Sound walnut, cherry and white oak are pointed toward refinishing instead of paint.

  • Work you can check

Every job is fully insured, and the rest can be judged by sight. The primer is named on the quote, fronts are labelled, containment is sealed, primer is sanded before topcoat, and real cure times are given.
